Consensus forecasts from meteorological agencies and models place Shenzhen's September 6 high at 31°C, the market's leading outcome at 46.5% implied probability. Persistent cloud cover, showers, and high humidity typical of the region's early September monsoon pattern are expected to moderate daytime heating, aligning with seasonal averages near 31°C. Recent model runs show limited divergence, with some guidance allowing brief peaks near 32°C if breaks in rain occur, while heavier precipitation could hold readings to 30°C. Traders appear to weigh these variables against historical analogs where similar conditions rarely exceed 33°C. Updated guidance from the China Meteorological Administration ahead of resolution may further influence positioning.
