Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance project a high temperature in the mid to upper 90s for Atlanta on September 6, with sunny skies, light northwest winds, and only a 20 percent chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. This consensus, following several consecutive days of upper-90s readings amid above-normal warmth, positions 96-97°F as the market leader while supporting the strong combined probability for 94-97°F outcomes. Afternoon heat indices could reach 100-103°F before a cooler air mass arrives Monday. Minor uncertainty remains around exact peak timing and any localized convective cooling, with final official observations from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport determining resolution.
