Incumbent Democrat Don Davis holds a narrow edge in recent polling for North Carolina’s 1st congressional district, with surveys from mid-2026 showing him ahead of Republican nominee Laurie Buckhout by margins of 3 to 6 points. The district shifted several points toward Republicans following 2025 redistricting, increasing its competitiveness and prompting analysts to classify the race as a toss-up or lean Republican in some forecasts. Davis benefits from incumbency and name recognition in a contest scheduled for November 3, while Buckhout’s primary victory positions her as the GOP standard-bearer in a district where national midterm dynamics and local turnout patterns could influence the final margin. Trader consensus reflected in current pricing aligns with these polling trends and the race’s structural changes.
