This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Toronto Pearson Intl Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 26 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=cyyz If NOAA data is unavailable or missing for the observation period, Weather Underground will be used as the secondary resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Late August climatology in Toronto typically yields daily highs near 24–26°C under the influence of moderating Lake Ontario waters and variable upper-level ridging, yet the current 50–49 split between 30°C-or-higher and 20°C-or-below outcomes reflects substantial forecast uncertainty for August 26. Ensemble guidance shows disagreement on the strength of an approaching shortwave trough and associated cloud cover or scattered thunderstorms, which could suppress maximum temperatures through reduced insolation or allow brief clearing that pushes readings toward 29–30°C. Official Environment and Climate Change Canada and NOAA model runs issued in the past 48 hours continue to diverge on boundary-layer moisture and mixing depth, keeping the market-implied distribution tightly clustered around the middle quintiles at roughly 25 percent each. Traders are therefore weighting the narrow window between these thresholds heavily until the next model cycle clarifies steering flow and convective timing.
