Latest National Weather Service and private model guidance for New York City on September 1 points to a humid, showery day with southwest flow and 60-70% rain chances that should cap afternoon highs in the mid-80s. WeatherBug’s 10-day forecast explicitly lists an 87°F high under partly to mostly cloudy skies with scattered storms, while other runs range 82-84°F depending on how quickly cloud cover builds and whether heavier rain arrives before peak heating. These conditions explain the tight clustering of trader probabilities around 84-87°F bins, as small differences in precipitation timing or convective intensity can shift the daily maximum by 2-3°F. With resolution just two days away, updates from the National Weather Service and ensemble guidance on cloud and storm evolution will remain the key drivers of any further market movement.
