Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Penghu County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).The Penghu County magistrate race remains tightly contested ahead of Taiwan's November 28, 2026 local elections, with no candidate establishing a clear lead as traders price multiple contenders near 40 percent. Yeh Chu-lin, Chen Chin-chuan, and Chou Ni-an sit at the front of the field while others trail, reflecting an open contest shaped by party nomination timelines, local voter alignments, and the possibility of independent or cross-party challenges in this island county. Recent statements from the sitting magistrate affirming a reelection bid, alongside expected decisions by major parties on official nominees, have kept probabilities fluid rather than consolidating support. Traders appear to weigh the fragmented candidate list and limited recent polling data as factors sustaining balance, with potential separation likely to emerge from formal party endorsements, campaign momentum, or shifts in turnout patterns among key local demographics.
