The crowded field of candidates for Martin’s mayoral election, scheduled for autumn 2026, has kept implied probabilities clustered near even money among the leading names. Incumbent Ján Danko’s late-August confirmation of a re-election bid, following earlier announcements by Michal Uherčík (backed by a cross-party opposition coalition) and Milan Ftorek, has reinforced a fragmented contest without a dominant frontrunner. Local priorities such as infrastructure projects, including a proposed cable car to Martinské hole, and calls for greater opposition coordination continue to shape positioning, while the absence of unified challengers or decisive polling shifts sustains the tight distribution across multiple contenders.
