Current forecast models from the National Weather Service and private services indicate overnight lows for Los Angeles on September 15 in the mid-to-upper 60s Fahrenheit, driven by a persistent marine layer that moderates temperatures along the coast through increased cloud cover, fog, and onshore flow. This pattern aligns with typical early-fall climatology, where average lows hover near 64°F but recent stability has kept readings several degrees higher. Market-implied odds favoring the 68-69°F bin reflect trader consensus on these guidance runs, while lower-probability outcomes for 61°F or below would require an unexpected strengthening of offshore winds or clear-sky radiational cooling. Updated model runs and any shifts in the subtropical ridge over the next 48 hours represent the key variables that could adjust these probabilities before resolution.
