Official National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 95°F for Houston on September 13, with mostly sunny skies giving way to a 40-50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. This aligns with late-summer patterns of high humidity, southeast flow, and instability that often produce convective clouds capable of capping daytime maxima. Historical September 13 averages hover near 90°F, yet current model consensus and recent warm advection support readings in the low-to-mid 90s. Afternoon radar trends and surface observations will refine the peak, with heat indices exceeding 105°F underscoring the role of moisture in trader assessments of the 92-93°F bin as the modal outcome.
