Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to overnight lows in the mid-70s for Austin on September 21, driven by persistent high pressure, light southerly flow, and minimal cloud cover that limits radiative cooling. Recent runs show only modest spread around 75–77 °F, yet trader positioning clusters near 72–75 °F, reflecting uncertainty from possible subtle shifts in dew-point advection or boundary-layer mixing. Historical climatology places the date’s average low near 66 °F, underscoring how the current warm anomaly elevates the floor. With resolution hinging on the precise minimum recorded at official stations, updated model output and any late-day frontal adjustments remain the key near-term catalysts.
