Current National Weather Service forecasts for Atlanta on September 21 project a high near 92°F amid lingering high pressure and unseasonably warm conditions 10–15°F above mid-September normals, with scattered afternoon thunderstorms possible due to increasing moisture from the northeast. This setup creates tight uncertainty in peak temperature: clearer skies or delayed convection could push readings into the mid-90s or higher, while earlier cloud cover or stronger storms might cap the maximum near or below 90°F. Recent model runs show modest spread in timing of instability and boundary-layer mixing, keeping market-implied odds nearly even between 100°F-plus and 81°F-or-below outcomes. Traders will monitor updated NWS guidance and ensemble consensus through the weekend for shifts in dew-point trends and steering flow.
