Current high-resolution forecasts from sources including GFS and regional models indicate a primary driver of strong diurnal heating under clear skies and light southerly to southeasterly winds on September 21, supporting afternoon maxima near 28–30 °C. Subsidence associated with high pressure favors minimal cloud cover and enhanced insolation, while the cool Benguela Current and potential sea-breeze timing introduce modest uncertainty in the precise peak. Historical September averages near 19–20 °C highlight the anomalous warmth, with trader-implied odds clustered at 28–30 °C reflecting consensus on these conditions while acknowledging possible model shifts from updated runs or subtle wind changes that could cap or exceed 31 °C.
