Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model consensus points to a high temperature in the mid-70s for New York City on September 14, driven by post-frontal northwest flow advecting cooler, drier air after Sunday’s rain-cooled conditions. Clear to partly cloudy skies and moderate winds should limit daytime heating, keeping readings near seasonal normals rather than allowing stronger recovery. Multiple forecasts cluster tightly around 74°F, with limited upside risk from residual moisture or model spread, which explains the market’s heavy weighting toward the 74-77°F range. Final observations from Central Park will resolve the market once the calendar day ends.
