This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 2 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Trader consensus favors a daily maximum of 27–28 °C in Hong Kong on August 2, reflecting the latest model guidance for widespread showers and persistent cloud cover that will limit solar heating. High relative humidity near 85–90 % and light southwesterly flow associated with the monsoon trough further suppress surface temperatures by reducing the diurnal range. Historical August climatology shows mean maxima near 31 °C, yet current conditions—persistent moisture and frequent convective activity—align more closely with 26–28 °C outcomes. Differentiation among the tightly bunched 26–28 °C probabilities hinges on the exact timing and coverage of rainfall: earlier or more extensive showers favor the lower end, while any afternoon clearing could briefly allow readings near 29 °C before resolution. Updated Hong Kong Observatory forecasts issued on August 1 will be the key near-term catalyst.
