Apple's September 9 event is expected to reveal the first foldable iPhone, likely positioned as the iPhone Ultra or iPhone 18 Fold alongside Pro models, with analyst estimates centering its starting price in the $2,000–$2,500 range. Recent reports from TrendForce, JPMorgan, and Ming-Chi Kuo highlight elevated bill-of-materials costs from premium foldable OLED panels supplied by Samsung Display, high-density memory, and advanced hinge engineering as key drivers pushing it well above the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Production remains limited to a few hundred units daily, underscoring supply constraints that support the premium pricing strategy in a competitive landscape against Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series. Traders are watching the event for official confirmation of base storage pricing and configuration tiers that could resolve the market.
