The 2026 Winnipeg mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Winnipeg as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Winnipeg.Incumbent Scott Gillingham holds the strongest trader-implied position in the fragmented Winnipeg mayoral field ahead of the October 28 vote, though June Probe Research polling showed substantial voter dissatisfaction with quality-of-life trends and limited enthusiasm for his re-election. A crowded ballot featuring recent entrant and former councillor Kevin Klein alongside lower-profile candidates such as Mazher Alam, Don Woodstock, Michael Vogiatzakis, Noah Redden, and Christopher Clacio has prevented any single challenger from consolidating opposition on issues including transit, housing, crime, and homelessness. Gillingham’s name recognition and early platform rollout on development and public safety continue to anchor the consensus, while the absence of a dominant alternative and low expected turnout compress probabilities for the rest of the field. Upcoming nomination deadlines and fall campaign events could still shift dynamics before ballots close.
