Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other sources indicate overnight lows in the upper 60s for September 9 in New York City, driven by a southerly flow of warmer, more humid air under partly cloudy skies with light southwesterly winds. This pattern suppresses radiational cooling compared to clearer, calmer conditions that would favor lower minima near the climatological average of about 64°F. Model consensus shows limited spread, with minimal precipitation risk and no strong frontal passages expected overnight, keeping temperatures from dropping into the mid-60s or below. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 66–73°F bins because small variations in cloud cover, wind speed, or exact timing of any clearing could shift the official Central Park minimum by a degree or two, while warmer outcomes would require stronger advection or delayed cooling. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of the date remain the key near-term catalysts.
