Recent National Weather Service model consensus for Austin indicates a high near 98°F on September 21 under mostly sunny skies with light southeasterly flow and minimal precipitation risk, consistent with late-summer high-pressure patterns. This places the expected maximum well above the 1991–2020 average of 89.8°F but far below the all-time record of 102°F set in 2005, while heat indices may approach 105°F due to humidity. The near-even market-implied odds between sub-90°F and 108°F+ outcomes reflect genuine short-term forecast uncertainty, including potential steering pattern shifts or localized measurement variations at official stations, with updated NWS guidance and morning observations serving as the key resolution inputs in the next 48 hours.
