This market will resolve to the political party that wins the greatest number of seats in the Parliament of the Cook Islands as a result of this election. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by July 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other". If multiple tied parties also received the same combined number of valid votes, this market will resolve in favor of the party whose name as listed in this market appears first in alphabetical order. A member will count towards the party they registered to contest the election with. This market's resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the named party. Independents will not count towards any party. This market will resolve based on the results of the elections, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. In the case of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on the results as reported by the Cook Islands government. The August 12, 2026, Cook Islands general election features a fragmented field of 63 candidates across major parties including the governing Cook Islands Party, the Democratic Party, and the Cook Islands United Party, plus smaller groups and independents contesting 24 seats in a system that typically requires coalition support for a 13-seat majority. Parliament dissolved on June 25 after the prime minister advised fresh elections, with nominations closing recently and one seat already secured uncontested. The balanced trader odds reflect the competitive landscape, where local constituency dynamics, candidate strength in key electorates, and post-poll negotiations among parties and independents could determine the outcome, with limited recent polling or decisive shifts to separate frontrunners ahead of the vote.
