Recent monthly CPI prints, including a July 2026 reading of 0.5% that fell short of expectations, have reinforced trader views that subdued domestic demand and persistent food-price softness will keep the full-year average within the 0.6–1.0% band. Weak consumption, abundant pork supply, and softer non-food categories such as transport have offset modest gains elsewhere, while producer-price trends and global energy easing have limited upside pressure. Official growth targets near 4.5–5% and an inflation goal of around 2% have not yet translated into stronger price momentum, aligning with analyst forecasts clustered near 0.8–1.2%. These conditions have positioned the narrow positive range as the clear consensus outcome ahead of additional data releases through year-end.
