Recent Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts for Tokyo indicate an overnight minimum of 24°C on August 19 under mostly cloudy skies, aligning closely with the market's leading outcomes at 25°C (49.5%) and 24°C (37%). These implied probabilities reflect trader consensus on typical mid-August conditions shaped by the dominant Pacific high-pressure system, which suppresses radiative cooling, combined with high humidity levels of 75–80% and urban heat retention from Tokyo's built environment that limit nocturnal temperature drops. Historical climatology shows average August lows near 24°C, with current atmospheric stability keeping readings above 22°C absent unusual cooling. Model consensus points to minimal variability in the short term, and any light showers are expected to have limited impact; updated JMA guidance will refine these odds ahead of resolution.
