Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Official forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory indicate a daytime maximum near 31–32 °C on August 18 under a broad low-pressure trough delivering scattered showers and high humidity across the region. These conditions, typical of peak summer monsoon patterns, limit intense solar heating while maintaining seasonally elevated warmth, with urban stations often recording 1–2 °C above outlying areas. Multi-model consensus and recent observations align closely with this range, driving the market’s heavy concentration on 31 °C as the leading outcome. Traders are monitoring the timing of any convective rain relative to peak afternoon temperatures and any late-day clearing that could allow brief additional warming before official daily maximum readings are finalized.
