Recent National Weather Service and NOAA forecasts for Chicago on September 13, 2026, show a high in the low-to-mid 70s under northwest winds of 5–10 mph, with increasing afternoon cloud cover and a 40% chance of scattered showers that limit daytime heating. This setup follows a cooler air mass intrusion, keeping temperatures below seasonal averages near 77°F and aligning closely with the market's leading 74–75°F and 72–73°F bins. Model consensus emphasizes modest mixing and marine influence from Lake Michigan, reducing peak readings compared to clearer conditions. Traders appear to weigh these dynamics heavily, with lower probabilities assigned to 76°F+ outcomes absent unexpected clearing or stronger southerly flow. Official high-temperature measurements at Chicago Midway or O'Hare will determine resolution.
