Current National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus for Austin on August 31 point to a high in the upper 90s near 99°F under sunny skies and light southerly flow, driving the strong 57% market-implied odds on 98-99°F and 37% on 100-101°F. Persistent late-summer heat across central Texas, with recent daily maxima of 103-107°F earlier in August, supports near-normal or slightly above-average readings for the date, though dry conditions and minimal cloud cover limit further intensification. Traders appear to weigh the tight clustering of official guidance and ensemble runs against minor model spread on peak afternoon temperatures, with final NWS updates and any overnight adjustments likely to refine resolution probabilities before markets close.
