Forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models show Chicago's minimum temperature on September 1 likely settling in the mid- to upper 70s under continued southerly winds and high humidity that limit nocturnal radiative cooling. Persistent warm advection from the southwest, combined with partial cloud cover, reduces the typical diurnal temperature drop compared to climatological averages near 64°F for the date. Model consensus points to overnight lows near 75–79°F with only modest variability from timing of any weak showers or clearing. Traders' tight clustering around 74–77°F ranges reflects this stable pattern and the short lead time until resolution, while lower-probability tails account for possible shifts in boundary-layer moisture or unexpected clearing that could allow slightly more cooling.
