This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 30 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.A broad trough of low pressure across Guangdong and the northern South China Sea has maintained unsettled, mostly cloudy conditions with scattered showers and thunderstorms over Hong Kong on August 30, 2026. Official Hong Kong Observatory data show a daily maximum of 30.1°C at the central station amid light winds and high humidity, aligning with model consensus for a peak near 30–31°C. Persistent cloud cover and precipitation have limited daytime heating relative to typical late-August climatology. The market's near-certain 30°C outcome reflects these verified observations and the low likelihood of rapid clearing that could push readings higher. A sudden reduction in shower activity or stronger insolation before sunset remains the main scenario that could shift the recorded maximum.
