Official observations from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport recorded a daily maximum of 100°F on August 29 under clear skies, light southerly winds, and dew points in the upper 60s that limited overnight cooling to a 70°F low. Persistent high pressure and a strong upper-level ridge maintained daytime heating rates consistent with late-summer climatology, where the 1991–2020 normal high is 95°F. Model consensus and real-time mesonet data aligned with this outcome, producing market-implied odds heavily favoring the 98–99°F bin as the resolution range. A modest revision in station reporting or use of an alternate urban site could still shift the final certified value into the adjacent 100–101°F category before official closure.
