Current National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a Sunday night low near 66–67°F in Chicago under mostly clear skies and light northeast winds, which favor radiational cooling after daytime highs in the upper 70s. This aligns with the seasonal transition from early-September heat but sits above the 1991–2020 average low of 62.6°F for the date. Trader positioning across closely bunched bins reflects lingering uncertainty in overnight minimums, driven by small differences in cloud cover, dew points, and wind speeds that can alter cooling rates by a few degrees. Official observations from Chicago O’Hare will resolve the market once the calendar day ends.
