**Market-implied odds favor the 72–73°F or 68–69°F bins as the most likely minimum temperature recorded in Austin on September 5, 2026.** Forecasters from the National Weather Service and private models converge on a nighttime low near 76–79°F under partly cloudy skies, light southeast winds of 5 mph or less, and dew points in the low-to-mid 70s that limit radiational cooling. However, small differences in cloud cover timing, boundary-layer mixing, and exact station siting—particularly between the official Austin-Bergstrom Airport reading and urban or suburban microclimates—can easily shift the observed minimum by several degrees. With the market closely split between the two leading outcomes, traders are pricing the genuine uncertainty in how much overnight cooling will occur before sunrise amid an otherwise hot, humid late-summer pattern whose historical average low for the date is about 71°F. New model runs and the final hourly observations will resolve the range before the market settles.
