Persistent southwest monsoon (habagat) activity, with widespread cloud cover and scattered thunderstorms, is the dominant factor capping daytime heating in Manila. Official PAGASA guidance and model consensus point to a maximum of 28–29°C on September 6, consistent with wet-season climatology where frequent rain and high humidity (often above 85%) suppress temperatures below the seasonal average near 31°C. Recent observations show daily maxima of 27–28°C under similar conditions. Trader emphasis on 29–31°C outcomes reflects uncertainty in exact cloud breaks and any localized clearing that could allow brief additional warming before the next forecast update.
