The open mayoral seat in Thunder Bay, Ontario, ahead of the October 26 vote has produced a crowded field of candidates with overlapping municipal, business, and community experience, resulting in closely matched trader probabilities on Polymarket. Recent nomination certification and the start of active campaigning have not yet created clear separation, as no comprehensive public polls exist to shift consensus. A CBC survey released September 5 identified homelessness and encampments as the dominant voter concern, followed by crime, policing, and infrastructure, issues that all leading contenders are addressing through platforms on housing, safety, and economic development. An informal August poll showed modest leads for Aldo Ruberto and Trevor Giertuga, but the absence of decisive differentiators or major endorsements keeps the race fluid. Scheduled debates and further candidate positioning on these priorities could consolidate support before election day.
