Republican incumbent Nick LaLota holds a clear edge in the NY-01 House race, with traders pricing Republican victory odds near 74.5% against Democrat Chris Gallant at 25.5%. LaLota, first elected in 2022, secured the nomination unopposed in the June 23, 2026 Republican primary and enters the November 3 general with a proven record of winning the Suffolk County-based district by roughly 55% in 2024. The seat’s underlying Republican tilt, reflected in consistent past performance and Cook Political Report’s Solid R rating, supports the current pricing. Gallant, a U.S. Army National Guard veteran and air traffic controller, won his Democratic primary but faces the typical challenges of a challenger in a non-swing district during a midterm cycle. No major late developments have altered the fundamentals since the primaries.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.

If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
