**Talarico leads Fort Bend County betting at 71.5% implied probability because the diverse suburban Houston county has trended Democratic in recent cycles, favoring the state representative's economic messaging and primary performance over Paxton's profile.** Paxton sits at 11.5% after defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the May 2026 GOP runoff, a contest that highlighted party divisions. Statewide polls show a competitive general election rated toss-up or lean Republican by forecasters, yet Fort Bend's demographics and voting patterns in prior races position the Democrat as the clearer county favorite. Minor candidates and independents register at 50% amid low expected shares, with the November 3 outcome still subject to turnout, late spending shifts, and any county-specific developments in the final weeks.
