Incumbent Democrat Teresa Leger Fernández faces Republican Martin Ruben Zamora in New Mexico’s 3rd congressional district on November 3, 2026. Both candidates advanced unopposed in the June 2 primaries, locking in the general-election matchup with limited time for challengers to emerge. The district’s modest Democratic lean, reflected in its Cook Partisan Voting Index and the incumbent’s 2024 performance, underpins trader pricing. Fernández maintains a sizable fundraising edge and benefits from the structural advantages of incumbency in a seat rated Solid Democratic. No recent polls or major developments have altered the competitive landscape, leaving the outcome dependent on broader national midterm dynamics rather than district-specific volatility.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
