Recent polling averages for the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election show the AfD maintaining a lead near 35-36 percent, with the SPD holding steady at 28-29 percent as the primary contender for second place ahead of Die Linke near 11-12 percent and the CDU around 9-10 percent. This positioning reflects consistent voter intentions through mid-2026, bolstered by the SPD's established regional base and governing record in the state. The market's close pricing among several parties stems from the potential for smaller shifts in turnout or coalition signals to alter second-place rankings, though no major late developments have yet disrupted the current order. Traders weigh these trends against historical patterns where incumbent parties often consolidate support in the final weeks.
