Incumbent Republican Rudy Yakym secured his party's nomination unopposed in the May 2026 primary for Indiana's 2nd congressional district, while Democrat Jamee Decio advanced from a contested primary. The district's Cook Partisan Voter Index of R+13 reflects consistent Republican advantages in presidential voting patterns and recent House results. All major forecasters rate the race as Safe or Solid Republican, aligning with the market's 94.5% Republican consensus. Trader positioning reflects the district's structural lean, Yakym's incumbency benefits, and limited Democratic infrastructure. A narrow path for Democratic gains would require substantial shifts in turnout among key voting blocs, a major national political realignment before November, or unforeseen developments such as candidate withdrawals or late scandals that alter the race dynamics.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
