Official NWS forecasts for September 10, 2026, place downtown Los Angeles near 96°F under an extreme heat warning with sunny skies and light east-southeast winds, while Los Angeles International Airport is projected at 89–90°F. This spread arises from urban heat island effects, variable marine layer influence, and afternoon sea breezes that can moderate coastal readings. Yesterday’s 105°F downtown peak established elevated baseline conditions, yet model consensus shows modest cooling today amid stable high pressure. The tight market clustering around 90–94°F reflects trader focus on resolution criteria tied to specific official stations and the narrow window before any late-day onshore flow alters peak readings.
