Recent polling shows Augusto Cury holding a slim lead for third place in Brazil’s October 4 first-round presidential vote, though Renan Santos and Ronaldo Caiado remain within the margin of error. Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro dominate the field, leaving a fragmented field of smaller-party candidates to compete for the remaining vote share. Cury’s profile as a psychiatrist and author has drawn support from voters seeking non-polarizing alternatives, while Santos leverages activist networks and youth outreach through the Missão party. Caiado draws on his record as a former Goiás governor and PSD backing. Tight positioning reflects ongoing volatility in a short campaign window, where debate performances, media exposure, and turnout among independents could still reorder the lower rankings before election day.
