Florida's 9th congressional district underwent redistricting ahead of the 2026 cycle, shifting its Cook Partisan Voting Index from D+4 to R+8 and converting a seat previously held by Democrat Darren Soto into a Republican-leaning district. Soto, the incumbent, advanced unopposed from the Democratic primary, while a crowded field of seven Republicans will contest their August 18 primary. Forecasters rate the general election Likely Republican or Solid Republican, reflecting the altered electoral math and voter composition across Osceola, Highlands, and Indian River counties. Recent polling in the GOP primary shows a fragmented contest with substantial undecided voters, yet the district's partisan baseline supports the current trader consensus favoring a Republican outcome in November.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
