Nikema Williams secured the Democratic nomination with 88% in the May 2026 primary and faces only Republican John Salvesen in the November 3 general election for Georgia’s 5th district. The Atlanta-based seat has delivered Democratic margins above 80% in recent cycles, reflecting its strong partisan composition and consistent turnout patterns favoring the incumbent. With no significant primary challenges, fundraising disparities, or late developments that would fragment the vote, traders assess a high likelihood that one candidate exceeds the 50% threshold required to avoid Georgia’s December runoff. Historical results in comparable safe districts reinforce this positioning ahead of Election Day.
