Recent opinion polls for New Zealand’s November 2026 general election show Labour and National nearly tied in party vote share around 30 percent each, with the National-led coalition holding a narrow overall edge in bloc support that has fluctuated within single digits. Minor parties including the surging Opportunity Party, NZ First, ACT, and the Greens are fragmenting the vote and complicating majority formation under MMP rules, keeping outright victory probabilities close. Traders reflect this uncertainty through slim margins between Labour and National. Further separation could arise from late-campaign shifts in economic sentiment, leadership approval trends, or coalition negotiations that clarify post-election government formation paths.
