Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and ensemble models indicate a high in the upper 70s to low 80s for New York City on September 5, driven by a northerly wind shift that advected drier, cooler air after recent humid conditions with peaks near 84°F. Mostly sunny skies and light north-northwest winds of 5–10 mph are limiting afternoon heating, consistent with early-September climatology near 80°F. This setup underpins trader consensus for the 80–81°F bin at 57.5% implied probability, with 78–79°F and 82–83°F as secondary outcomes reflecting minor model spread on peak timing and boundary-layer mixing. The market aggregates skin-in-the-game assessments of these variables ahead of official LaGuardia Airport observations.
