Incumbent Republican Monica De La Cruz faces Democratic nominee Bobby Pulido in the South Texas district, where recent primary turnout among Hispanic voters and Pulido's name recognition as a Tejano musician have narrowed the gap despite the seat's Republican lean from prior cycles. Traders see the race as closely contested due to localized Democratic momentum in the Rio Grande Valley, fundraising patterns, and the absence of a decisive national tailwind. A strong performance by either candidate in fall advertising, voter mobilization efforts, or late polling shifts among key demographics could widen the margin ahead of November.
