The closely matched probabilities for second place in the Minas Gerais Senate race reflect a fragmented field for the state's two seats, where each voter selects two candidates. The latest Datafolha survey, conducted August 18–20 after candidacies were finalized and campaigning began, shows Marília Campos (PT) leading overall at 11% but with Carlos Viana (PSD), Domingos Sávio (PL), and Marcelo Aro (PP) within the three-point margin of error at 8%, 6%, and 5% respectively amid 24% undecided and 21% blank/null responses. Earlier July polls had featured Aécio Neves (PSDB) more prominently before recent configurations narrowed the second-place contenders. High undecided shares, limited early advertising, and Minas Gerais's large electorate sustain the tightness, with separation likely to emerge from candidate visibility in the coming weeks, coalition consolidation ahead of the October vote, or shifts in turnout among key regional blocs.
