**Fort Bend County’s diverse suburban demographics, including growing Hispanic, Asian, and Black populations, have produced consistent Democratic margins in recent statewide contests, positioning James Talarico as the clear favorite to carry the county in the November 2026 U.S. Senate general election.** Talarico secured the Democratic nomination after defeating Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the March primary and has built a substantial fundraising advantage exceeding $68 million. Ken Paxton won the Republican nomination by defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the May runoff with former President Trump’s endorsement, yet faces headwinds from prior legal and ethical scrutiny that limit his appeal in suburban areas. Statewide polls show a competitive race overall, but Fort Bend’s recent electoral trends and Talarico’s resource edge reinforce trader expectations for a Democratic county victory.
