Official National Weather Service observations from Chicago stations, including Midway Airport, recorded an overnight minimum of 66°F on August 29, 2026, slightly above the 1991–2020 normal of 65°F amid light winds and partial cloud cover that limited radiational cooling. Trader consensus at 100% for a 64–65°F low reflects alignment between pre-event model guidance from NOAA and the final verified data release, with no significant forecast bust or station discrepancy emerging by resolution. This skin-in-the-game positioning draws on the reliability of automated surface observations and historical climatology for late-August conditions. A realistic challenge could arise only from post hoc data revisions by NWS or use of an alternate station network showing a lower reading.
