Forecast consensus from National Weather Service and other models points to a high near 95°F for Houston on September 8, driven by persistent high pressure, light southeasterly flow off the warm Gulf of Mexico, and minimal cloud cover allowing strong daytime heating. With average highs around 91°F this time of year and recent days reaching the low-to-mid 90s amid humid conditions, traders favor the 92–95°F bins as the most likely outcome under typical late-summer subsidence and sea-breeze patterns. Afternoon convection or slight increases in cloud cover could cap the peak a degree or two lower, while clearer skies and stronger insolation would push it toward 96°F or above, creating the close spread between leading probabilities. Updated model runs and official briefings in the next 48 hours will refine these thresholds.
