Forecast models and National Weather Service guidance for Denver on September 16, 2026, point to a high near 89°F under partly sunny skies with only a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms, supporting the market's overwhelming 95.1% implied probability for the 88-89°F bin. This outlook aligns with recent warming trends that have pushed the city toward its warmest September on record, exceeding the 1991-2020 average high of 79°F. Afternoon observations around 78-83°F and ensemble consensus reinforce trader confidence in this narrow range. Stronger-than-expected convection, increased cloud cover, or a shift in steering winds could cap temperatures in the mid-80s, while an earlier clearing trend might briefly test the low 90s.
