The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) has traded near 98.8 in recent sessions, reflecting a modest pullback amid cooling inflation readings and steady Fed policy expectations. July core PCE rose just 0.1% month-over-month and 3.3% year-over-year, reinforcing a gradual disinflation trend that has tempered bets on near-term rate hikes despite resilient labor market data. The 10-year Treasury yield hovers around 4.69%, supporting relatively attractive rate differentials versus major peers, while the next FOMC meeting in mid-September remains the key focal point for rate path repricing. Traders will monitor upcoming releases including initial claims, retail sales, and any fresh Fed commentary for signals on whether softening price pressures or growth concerns dominate positioning into the final week of August.
