**Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts for Houston on September 6, 2026, point to a typical late-summer pattern of highs in the low-to-mid 90s under partly to mostly sunny skies with a 40-60% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.** Light winds and high dew points near 74-76°F will support rapid daytime heating, but scattered convection—driven by sea-breeze convergence and instability—may limit full realization of peak temperatures depending on timing and coverage. Historical averages for the date hover near 91°F, and recent days have featured similar conditions with highs of 92-96°F amid periodic storm activity. Trader emphasis on the 88-93°F range reflects this balance between strong insolation potential and the moderating influence of clouds or rain, with updates from the NHC/NOAA and local radar expected to refine odds as the event approaches.
